George Irvine was born in Oxford, England in 1972. Brought up and educated in the Midlands he and his family have recently moved to Exmoor.

George uses the landscape and weather ‘happenings’ to celebrate our precious environment. He brings to his audience a Whiz and a Pop, a unique vision with which he interprets a variety of locations, mostly in the United Kingdom. In the tradition of the Romantics, George brings a fresh eye to the recording of light and atmosphere.

He studied at The Slade School, UCL and since has since been teaching teenagers and adults alike. This included 12 years full time at Stowe School when the Art Department was one of the trail blazers in Art Education. He and his wife then started Buttermilk Art School. He runs courses today but prioritises working towards regular exhibitions and fulfilling commissions. His exhibitions are always successful and he is collected both nationally and internationally.
